Business Services Advisor
Joy Samuel brings employment experience in project management, customer service, training and crisis intervention to OEA NS Society in the position of Business Services Advisor. A graduate of Saint Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree, Joy has worked as an active team member in a university mental health setting. She has exceptional skills in graphic design and health promotion which she has used to increase outreach of programs and services.
Joy also has additional experience including: Residence Services Officer; Residence Assistant and Office Assistant. Active in the community, Joy has been Co-Coordinator of the Halifax Dump and Run, and Neighbourhood Assistant- coordinating weekly clean-ups. She served two years as the Associate Director of the Fusion Sustainability Action team and continues to volunteer with several non-profit organizations around Halifax.
Awarded the St. Mary’s University Environmental Studies prize for the top Environmental Studies student, Joy was also Valedictorian of her 2016 graduating class. Still active in her community, Joy is a member of the Dalhousie Swing Dance Society and serves as one of the instructors.
