Tom Champion – Employer Advisor
Tom is a practising lawyer with deep expertise in administrative law, with a particular focus on procedural fairness. He also brings extensive knowledge of the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and disability claims, offering valuable support to employers navigating complex legal matters.
Tom is passionate about making legal concepts accessible, helping employers clearly understand their rights, responsibilities, and options. His approach emphasizes the importance of employers having an active voice in decision-making, empowering them to confidently manage the issues that impact their workplaces.
Michael 'Mike' Lynds – Office Administration Coordinator
As the first point of contact at OEA NS, Mike plays a key role in ensuring smooth, timely communication between employers and our team. With a background in health care and administration, he oversees day-to-day operations and supports the coordination of our training programs and events. Mike’s strong organizational skills and commitment to efficiency enhance our ability to deliver responsive, high-quality support to employers across Nova Scotia.
We’re also pleased to welcome two new members to our Board of Directors, Janick Cormier and Duncan Robertson.
Janick, Vice President (Atlantic) at Restaurants Canada, brings extensive experience in government relations and advocacy, particularly in the hospitality sector. Duncan, Director of Legislative Affairs at the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), specializes in policy analysis and legislative affairs, with a focus on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. Janick and Duncan’s diverse expertise play a crucial role in guiding our strategic priorities and decision-making, allowing us to continue advocating for employers across the province.
