New workplace requirements are on the way, and OEA NS is here to help employers navigate what’s ahead.
Effective September 1, 2025, all employers in Nova Scotia will be required to establish and implement a workplace harassment prevention policy under the Stronger Workplaces for Nova Scotia Act.
To support employer voices in this process, the Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration has released a survey seeking feedback on the proposed regulations.
OEA NS is hosting virtual consultation sessions to help employers understand the proposed changes, walk through the survey, and engage in discussion with other Nova Scotia employers. These one-hour sessions will also introduce a draft policy template developed by OEA NS to support implementation.

Led by Tom Champion, Employer Advisor at OEA NS, these sessions include a walk-through of the policy components, time for questions, and a downloadable template (available soon on our website).
