Accommodation in Action: Understanding the Duty to Accommodate & Duty to Inquire for Health and Disability Issues

Category: Training

Date: Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 1:00pm - 3:00pm

Details:

When health and safety or disability concerns arise in the workplace, employers need to understand their legal responsibilities and obligations to respond appropriately. This session explores both the duty to accommodate and the duty to inquire, as well as the intersection between compensable (insurance-covered) and non-compensable (personal) claims. Through practical examples and interactive discussion, participants will learn what information an employer may request, how to consider restrictions and limitations (as a legal basis of human rights), how to approach sensitive conversations, document the process, and make informed, compliant decisions with confidence about possible accommodations.
