Join us online or in-person for Mid-Month Matters, our monthly employer discussions designed to give you a chance to connect with the Employer Advisor team, ask questions and share workplace issues in a casual, open-forum setting.
Mid-Month Matters takes place once a month, typically on a Wednesday between the 10th and 20th of the month, from 12:15–12:45 p.m.
Participants are welcome to casually drop-in, either by attending virtually or visiting in-person at our offices. BYOL (Bring Your Own Lunch) is welcomed/encouraged!

Paul brings over 15 years of experience in human resources, including recruitment, occupational health and safety, management coaching, and workplace training. He designs and delivers practical education services that respond to the real-world needs of employers across Nova Scotia.
With an expansive and unique blend of educational, HR, and leadership experience both locally and abroad, Paul Deveau is right at home with the Office of the Employer Advisor (OEA) in the new role of Education Services Advisor.
A proud Nova Scotian hailing from Herring Cove and Bedford, along with Acadian family roots in Clare, Paul is a graduate of Saint Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy and a Certificate in Human Resource Management. Paul has spent over 15 years working in various industries, organizations and capacities within Human Resources fields, including staff recruitment and executive search, career transition, generalist consulting, occupational health and safety, management coaching, training and facilitation, as well as leading and supporting matters of organizational design, job classification and employee compensation with the Government of Nova Scotia, where he was the recipient of multiple ‘Minister’s Awards of Excellence’.
Paul joined the OEA in June 2026 in a new role dedicated to expanding the scope of support and solutions for employers through the development and delivery of relevant, practical, and engaging training services and informative educational resources. In this way, Paul “walks the talk” as an avid life-long learner, having completed a wealth of courses and certifications in areas of adult education, leadership development, EDIA, professional coaching, OHS, mental health, first aid, workplace best practices and more. As an added complement, Paul spent several years in South Korea as a certified ESL educator teaching/coaching/training students ranging in age from 5 to 85 and has also worked in various leadership and programming capacities with recreational summer camps for youth and families in both Canada and the United States.
